WHO WE ARE
Hi! I am Bridget (she/her), a Maine-based therapist specializing in sex therapy for adults. Using current best practices, I will guide, support, and empower you through an exploration process that will allow you to grow and change. I want to help you build the sex life and personal relationship to sex that you want regardless of any challenges you might encounter.
Beyond supporting folks navigating sexuality, I enjoy working with folks who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and their relationship to care work. Currently, I am in sex therapy training with the South Shore Sexual Health Center.
our THERAPY METHOD
-
HOLISTIC
We will utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches based on what works best for you. There is no one right technique for everyone.
-
NARRATIVE
We will center our work in a collaborative and non-pathologizing approach that centers you as the expert of your own life as well as views problems as separate from people.
-
SYSTEMS-ORIENTED
We will acknowledge the ways in which the systems around us, such as school, work, and politics, impact what brings you into therapy and the challenges you face.
-
our Therapeutic Approach
Grounded in a trauma-informed practice, our work together will recognize the impact of systems on overall wellbeing. and sexuality in particular. I will support you in navigating your relationship to sex and identifying your preferred way of living. After working to address the root causes of some of the challenges you face, we will process your lived experiences while identifying changes that will help you thrive. This trauma-informed approach will recognize the fact that we all carry our past traumas and have the strengths to navigate it with support.
